v1.08 - Core Gameplay Fixes/Adjustments


Hey everyone! Thanks so much for the support given to RIFT over the past week. We've been thrilled to see the downloads and Let's Play videos being posted on the game page. This game jam has only begun our team's game development journey and we're ready to take it a step further in the future. In the meantime, I've gone back into some more troublesome mechanics in the game and made adjustments that I hope will make a newcomer's experience more enjoyable. The camera's battery lasts longer and will briefly recharge faster than normal at a set interval, even if you're using it! Additionally, I've redone the code for determining AI location in a major game mechanic, which has finally included a forced minimum distance away from the player - she may get close, but she shouldn't spawn directly on you ever again!

With these changes, we can begin designing the experience for the next game and carrying over what went right into the new one. We want to provide a unique horror experience that really immerses you in the scenario while leaving many things up for player interpretation. This next project will take longer, but more love is being put into it!
